YMCA Newcastle have a strong outreach and detached team that continue to deliver services within the key areas of deprivation and ensure we reach out and bring in young people that are really isolated.

We do this through a number of methodologies including tailored PSD programs, online support and programming to the discord gaming server which was implemented following lockdown to ensure the continuation of essential services online for young people.

The project has excellent networking and partnerships within the local and wider communities including PSNI, DACT, Health and Social Services, Mental Health Services, Domestic Violence and Sexual Partnership Service, Youth Justice, as well as local and external working partnerships and agencies.

These partnerships allow for partnership working and tailored programmes based on needs assessment and consultation with young people and stakeholders. Key themes include Drug and alcohol, CSE, sexual health, gendered based support work, mental health, resilience building and impact programmes to challenge toxic elements impacting perspective and view of the world.
